Guest Lodgy Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Hi guys, My Dads Galaxy has been off the road now for a month due to this problem. The engine will turn over and over but there is no actual start. However, either on a warm day or he warmed the engne up somehow :-/... My dad got it started. As long as it was warm is would start. He has tried new glo plugs, no luck,He has changed the relay, no luck,He said there was no power at the glow plugs. Has anyone had this problem before or know of a solution? Dan Quote
Brookydave Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Had a similar problem myself.Check the cam and diesel pump timing. If the belt appears to have jumped the same amount on both sprockets, the the crank pulley has gone. Dont fiddle about - buy a new one only Quote
big_kev Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Which relay did he change ? it sounds like the ignition relay that is the problem, cutting of the fuel to the engine.Check if there is voltage at the fuel cut off valve. If not connect it direct to the battery and it should start ( as a temporary measure ) Quote

seatkid Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 It's almost certainly is because your glow plugs arent working.Check F74 (60A) fuse that feeds the glow plug circuit and F32 (3A) that feeds the relay coil. Both are in the box under the dash. The Glow plug relay is K70 Quote
